Jean Pierre Cassar was first introduced to percussion after starting lessons with MPO\u2019s principal percussion Daniel Cauchi. Eventually he enrolled at the University of Malta, while occasionally
\nworking as a part-time musician with the MPO.<\/p>\n
Jean Pierre won an audition in 2016 for the post of \u2019Assistant Timpani and 1st Percussion\u2019 at Ruse State Opera in Bulgaria, where he worked until 2019.<\/p>\n
After joining the MYO, Jean Pierre was introduced to the internship program with the MPO in January 2020.<\/p>\n
Jean Pierre has completed his Master at the Conservatorio Arrigo Boito in Parma in 2021 after studying with Nick Woud (Solo Timpani \u2013 Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam) as well as Ilya
\nMelikhov (Russian National Orchestra)<\/p>\n
